Linear actuator
Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, suggests that: ‘Linear actuators use a screw thread to convert rotary motion into linear travel. Many actuators are connected to the valve spindle by a screwed coupling. Linear actuators are powered by a switched or pulsed 24 V AC or 230 V AC supply. They are also available as a modulating actuator with a 0-10 V DC or 4-20 mA positioning signal and a 24 V AC power supply.’
