Hold point
BG 81/2022, Soft Landings for Fit-Outs, written by Kieran Everett and James Gall and published by BSRIA in June 2022, defines a hold point as: ‘An agreed point during design or construction where a decision needs to be made to progress, so a stop on works is programmed in to allow for the decision making. This could be sign-off of a specific finish for a piece of joinery or could be a point at which the building services have to be tested before closure of an inaccessible area.’
