Green tariff
Renewable Energy Procurement & Carbon Offsetting, Guidance for net zero carbon buildings, published by the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) in March 2021, defines a green tariff as: ‘A consumer product offered by an energy supplier distinct from the ‘standard’ fossil-fuel based offering. These are often supported by renewable generation or energy attribute certificates such as unbundled REGOs (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin).’
