Enforcement authorities
An enforcement authority is a person or body that has jurisdiction to enforce or to take action under or in respect of a legal requirement. Depending on the case in England and Wales enforcement authorities are a local weights and measures authority. In England a district council may also enforce certain Acts, along with the Trading Standards Authority and police.
