Construction Quality Planning Guide, Draft for Consultation, Published by the Construction Innovation Hub in May 2020, defines Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) as: A quality framework used for developing new products. It was developed by the automotive industry but can be applied to any industry and is similar in many respects to the concept of design for six sigma.’ Ref Automotive Industry Action Group, Advanced product quality planning (APQP) and control plan reference manual, second edition, Southfield, MI: AIAG, 2008.
