Virus

In very general terms, a virus is an infectious agent that replicates in the cells of organisms causing damage to the host organism. Examples of viruses in humans include measles and smallpox.

Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, states: ‘Like an infection, a software virus affects data by corrupting it. This can lead to system software becoming unusable or unstable and can prevent users from accessing it.’
