Human
North Ayrshire Local Biodiversity Action Plan, 2019-2031, published by North Ayrshire Council, defines Human as: ‘The mammal species to which all people belong, known by the scientific name Homo sapiens sapiens (Anatomically Modern Human). Humans are therefore part of and dependent on biodiversity and ecosystems. Due to an exponentially increasing human world population, combined with increasing natural resource consumption per person, humans are causing unprecedented impacts on biodiversity.’
