Thermoelectric actuator
Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, states in relation to thermoelectric actuators: These actuators work by applying power to solidify or liquify wax which in turn causes its volume to expand and contract. This is converted into a linear motion which opens and closes a valve. These types of actuators are commonly found in zone applications where smaller valves are used, for example on radiators or underfloor heating coils.’
