Spline
The 2018 International Residential Code (IRC), published by the International Code Council (ICC) defines a spline as: ‘A strip of wood structural panel cut from the same material used for the panel facings, used to connect two structural insulated panels. The strip (spline) fits into a groove cut into the vertical edges of the two structural insulated panels to be joined. Splines are used behind each facing of the structural insulated panels being connected…’
