Source-pathway-receptor
Culvert, screen and outfall manual, (CIRIA C786) published by CIRIA in 2019, defines a source-pathway-receptor as: ‘How a hazard propagates from its source, via a pathway to a receptor. For example, in the event of heavy rainfall (the source) floodwater may escape from a river and propagate across the floodplain (both elements of the pathway) to inundate a housing development (the receptor), which may suffer material damage.’
