Smart hub
Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, defines a smart hub as: ‘A device which enables wireless devices to communicate with one another, usually in a home energy management system.’
It states: 'Most smart devices must have a gateway device or hub in order to connect to a wireless network. These devices can be either generic or manufacturer-specific, hence when expanding a network of smart devices, compatibility should be considered.'
