Risk perception
Guidance on the code of practice for property flood resilience, published by CIRIA in 2021, defines risk perception as: ‘…the view of risk held by a person or group and reflects cultural and personal values, as well as experience.’
AR5 Climate Change 2014: Impacts, Adaptation, and Vulnerability, Glossary, published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) defines risk perception as: ‘The subjective judgment that people make about the characteristics and severity of a risk.’
