Rangeability
Guide to Controls (BG 83/2023) written by John Marrow and published by BSRIA in June 2023, defines rangeability as: ‘The ratio of the maximum controllable flow of a control valve to its minimum controllable flow at the same differential pressure across the valve.’
It goes on to state the rangeability of a control valve is: ‘…the ratio of the maximum controllable flow (fully open) to the minimum controllable flow at the same differential pressure across the valve. For example, if a valve’s maximum controllable flow is 50 l/s and its minimum controllable flow is 1 l/s, its rangeability is 50:1.’
