Pesticides
Containment systems for the prevention of pollution, Secondary, tertiary and other measures for industrial and commercial premises (CIRIA C736), published by CIRIA in 2014, defines pesticides as: ‘Substances used for preventing, destroying or mitigating any pest. They are a class of biocide, a chemical substance or microorganism that can deter, render harmless, or exert a controlling effect on any harmful organism by chemical or biological means.’
