Geo-environmental investigation
Glossary of common terms used in the management of land contamination, published on the Planning Portal, defines a geo-environmental investigation as: ‘the collection and analysis of surface water, groundwater, soil gas and other media as a means of further informing the conceptual model and the risk assessment to ascertain the suitability of sites for construction operations and civil engineering works.’
