Fit-out work
Approved document L, Conservation of Fuel and Power, Volume 2: Buildings other than dwellings, 2021 edition incorporating 2023 amendments, defines fit-out work as:
The work to complete the partitioning and building services within the external fabric of the building (the shell) to meet the specific needs of incoming occupiers. Fit-out work can be carried out either:
- during the same project and time frame as the construction of the building shell
- at a later date, after the shell has been completed.
