Fire risk

PAS 9980:2022, Fire risk appraisal of external wall construction and cladding of existing blocks of flats – Code of practice, published by BSI Standards Limited in 2022, defines fire risk as the: ‘combination of the likelihood of the occurrence of fire and likely consequence(s) of a fire. NOTE In the context of this PAS, the relevant consequences of a fire are those involving injury to people (number and severity of injuries), as opposed to damage to property.’

Fire safety in construction, written by HSE and Published by TSO (The Stationery Office), Third Edition, 2022, defines fire risk as: ‘The potential for a fire to cause loss of life or injury and/or damage to property.’
