Data asset
The GIIG Glossary, published by the Government & Industry Interoperability Group in 2022, defines data as a: ‘Collection of discrete values describing quantity, quality, fact, statistics or other basic units of meaning, represented by characters or symbols that may be further interpreted.’
It defines a data asset as: ‘A system or application output file, database, document, or web page.’
