Buttressing wall
Approved document A: Structure, 2004 edition incorporating 2004, 2010 and 2013 amendments, defines a buttressing wall as: ‘A wall designed and constructed to afford lateral support to another wall perpendicular to it, support being provided from the base to the top of the wall.’
