Vertically integrated utilities
Planning our electric future: a White Paper for secure, affordable and low-carbon electricity, Glossary, published by the Department of Energy & Climate Change on 14 July 2011, defines vertically integrated utilities as: ‘Where one business owns two or more parts of the energy supply chain. For example, where the same entity owns generation capacity and also supplies energy to the retail market.’
