Transitioning
Gender transition, expression and identity tool kit, published by CBRE, suggests: ‘Transitioning describes both a public act and a process. It involves the permanent and public adoption of style and presentation of the gender opposite to that of a person’s birth-assigned sex.’
The University of Oxford Equality and Diversity Unit, Training, resources and glossary [accessed February 2020], suggests the term transitioning is: ‘…used to describe the process and steps an individual takes in order to live in the gender with which they identify, where this is different from the one assigned at birth. The new identity may be non-binary. Transitioning is a unique process for each individual and may include any number of changes to their life.’
