Sustainability appraisal
The London Plan, published by the Mayor of London in March 2016, states that a sustainability appraisal is: ‘Required by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. Sustainability Appraisal is a based on the principles of Strategic Environmental Assessment but is wider in focus and covers other key considerations of sustainability that also concern social and economic issues.’
