BG 88 Commissioning Responsibilities Framework, by Matt Lowry, published by BSRIA in January 2025, defines sign-off as: ‘An exercise completed to accept a system on behalf of the client.’
Roles in construction projects: analysis and terminology, by Hughes, W. and Murdoch, J. R, published in 2001 by the University of Reading, defines sign-off as: ‘Signing a certificate that records agreement with what has been done.’
