Plastic soil
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, defines plastic soil as: ‘Soil with a relatively high proportion of silt and clay that, within a certain moisture content range, is capable of being moulded or deformed without rupture.’
