“Aerospace series - Requirements for advanced product quality planning and production part approval process,” British Standards Institution, BS EN 9145, 2018, defines a Key Characteristic (KC) as: “An attribute or feature whose variation has a significant influence on product fit, performance, service life or producibility; that requires specific action for the purpose of controlling variation.”
