Coastal character assessment
Guidance on designating Local Landscape Areas, published in October 2020 by NatureScot and Historic Environment Scotland, suggests a coastal character assessment (CCA): ‘Identifies, describes and maps Scotland’s coasts. Considers characteristics associated specifically with the coast, such as marine influences, the character of the coastal edge and its immediate hinterland.’
