Clawback
Functional Standards Common Glossary, published by the Cabinet Office, defines clawback as: ‘The concept that where an asset financed by public money is sold, all or part of the proceed of the sales should be returned to the Exchequer. Clawback can also apply when the purpose for which a general grant is given is not fulfilled.’
