Green infrastructure and open environments: London’s foundations: protecting the geodiversity of the capital, Supplementary Planning Guidance, published by the Mayor of London in March 2012, defines Cenozoic [Cainozoic] as: ‘A geological era covering 65.5 Ma [65.5 – present day]. It is preceded by the Mesozoic, the Cretaceous – Tertiary (K-T) extinction event marks this boundary.’
