The Explanatory Notes to the Draft Building Safety Bill, published by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government on 20 July 2020, suggests that registered building control approver(s) are: ‘Formerly known as an Approved Inspector or a building control body under the old regulatory system. Refers to private sector firms doing building control work.’
