Asset tag

Smart Building Overlay to the RIBA Plan of Work, published by the RIBA in 2024, states: ‘Asset tags are labels that identify equipment. This can take many forms including a unique serial number, QR code, barcode or radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag, that creates a seamless link between the physical and digital asset. The code affixed on an asset tag can then be replicated in the digital twin, thus creating a link between the physical and the digital asset.’
