Asset portfolio
PAS 55-1:2008, Asset Management: Part 1: Specification for the optimized management of physical assets, written by the Institute of Asset Management, and published by BSi in September 2008, defines an asset portfolio as the: ‘complete range of assets and asset systems owned by an organization. NOTE Assets and asset systems may be highly integrated and interdependent or deliver more independent and parallel contributions to an organization’s total performance. In the latter case, opportunities may exist to manage and optimize assets or asset systems differently across the portfolio.’
Asset Management – an anatomy, Version 4, published by The Institute of Asset Management in July 2024, defines an asset portfolio as: ‘Assets that are within the scope of the asset management system. Notes: (1) A portfolio is typically established and assigned for managerial control purposes.’
