Idea for the BSRIA and Designing Buildings Wiki ideas competition:
The increasing urbanisation of our cities continues to apply pressure on the transport systems which increases congestion of the roads and public transport, meaning that pollution is increased alongside wasted time spent travelling.
Therefore my idea is for residential buildings of the future to incorporate the facilities and amenities, that previously residents had to travel to, within the building which allows for easy access. This will vastly cut the need to travel long distances to amenities therefore pollution from travel will be reduced and time that previously was spent travelling can be used more efficiently.
Examples of amenities and facilities that could be included are;
Office Spaces, Shops, Gyms and more
