About Julian joy
Healthcare Director for ESA-Capita architecture. Transforming healthcare estates
Julian recently joined Capita ESA architects following a long architectural career working within the NHS health sector.
Specialising in masterplanning, brief writing, design and development of complex healthcare, commercial and residential sites within both public and private sectors.
Project experience not only includes a large number of primary and acute healthcare schemes but also extra care, nursing and dementia care.
Some of these complex projects were in some cases, generated by estates capacity studies conducted by Julian who successfully reduced the levels of both revenue and capitals expenditure in the acute and primary sectors.
Recent studies include the Norfolk community health and wellbeing trust and Wycombe hospitals where wholesale savings were identified and are now being implemented.
Julian is also responsible for driving forward the practice’s current excellent healthcare architectural portfolio utilising the superb design skills, experience and technical know-how in the healthcare environment of ESA and Capita architects.
His continued passion for accurate brief writing and a better healthcare solution in design creates a better understanding of service requirements and should be at the forefront of any built estate solution.
Julian recently became a DQI assessor and also a City Councillor for Chichester.
