Potential energy
Energy storage in buildings - a technology overview (BG 73/2018), written by John Piggott and published by BSRIA in 2018, defines potential energy as: ‘Energy which exists by virtue of an object’s position in a gravitational or magnetic field, internal stress (such as in a coiled spring or a pressurised gas) or electric charge.’
