Meridian
The Geospatial Glossary, published by the Geospatial Commission, and accessed on 17 September 2022, defines a meridian as the: ‘Intersection of an ellipsoid by a plane containing the shortest axis of the ellipsoid.’
It defines the prime meridian as the: 'Meridian from which the longitudes of other meridians are quantified.'
