Flammable material

Fire safety in construction, written by HSE and Published by TSO (The Stationery Office), Third Edition, 2022, defines a flammable material as: ‘A material capable of burning with a flame.’

It defines flammable liquids as: ‘…liquids with a flashpoint of 60 °C or below. There are three categories: flammable, highly flammable and extremely flammable. They are dangerous substances as defined by DSEAR (the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations).’
