Filter strip
Biodiversity in new housing developments: creating wildlife-friendly communities, published by the NHBC Foundation in April 2021 defines a filter strip as: ‘A strip of grass collecting silt and sediments and slowing run-off flow from hard surfaces. They are often used in conjunction with swales.’
