Carbon FuturesCarbon Futures and igloo Regeneration celebrate win at the Herald Property Awards 2025 for climate-resilient housing development
Leading energy and sustainability consultancy, Carbon Futures is delighted to have been recognised at the 2025 Herald Property Awards Scotland for its contribution to igloo Regeneration’s newly completed low-carbon housing development in Dundashill, Glasgow.
Maltings Wynd was crowned the winning project in the Innovation in Sustainable Construction and Design category at the awards ceremony which took place at the Hilton Doubletree in Glasgow on Thursday 25th September.
Carbon Futures Director, Andrew Money, attended the celebration and accepted the award on behalf of the team. He commented:
”We are absolutely thrilled to see Maltings Wynd win this award. The competition was tough, with some outstanding developments shortlisted, and to take home this accolade is an achievement that we are incredibly proud of.
For Carbon Futures, this project represents an example of the fantastic collaboration between our team and our project partners, highlighting how building performance analysis can truly influence design and help our clients achieve their goals for sustainability and energy efficiency.”
Gary Watt, Development Director at igloo Regeneration added:
“We’re delighted to have won the Innovation in Sustainable Construction and Design category at the Herald Property Awards for Scotland for our homes at Dundashill.
Our vision for Maltings Wynd was to blend climate-resilient homes with community living in the heart of Glasgow’s Canalside. This award is a testament to our partnership with the Housing Growth Partnership and a reflection of our project team’s ongoing dedication to sustainable development.”
Igloo Regeneration appointed Carbon Futures to devise a future-proofed energy strategy for the Maltings Wynd development, ensuring all homes would perform well beyond the minimum building standards for energy and sustainability.
To develop the energy strategy, Carbon Futures produced a detailed operational energy performance report which considered a variety of strategies for the development. This detailed analysis report provided igloo Regeneration with as much performance data as possible to support their decision-making process when deciding on the most appropriate solution to take forward.
On completion, all 78 properties at Maltings Wynd achieved an EPC ‘A’ rating for energy performance and Gold Standard for carbon emissions and space heating energy demand.
