Phillip Cable LLM is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MAST, a UK-based global risk management, physical security and consulting business. Since establishing MAST in 2005, he has led the company’s growth from start-up to an international security provider supporting government, corporate, maritime, infrastructure, commercial property and high-risk environment clients.

Phillip’s expertise is particularly relevant to building design where security, resilience and technology need to be considered early in the design process. Through MAST, he advises on practical and proportionate security measures including physical protection, security systems, CCTV, access control, monitoring, operational response, risk assessment and security consultancy. MAST’s services include physical security, consulting, security systems and a 24/7 Global Operations Centre.

His background combines board-level leadership, maritime and port security, military experience as a Royal Navy Warfare Officer, legal training, maritime law and international risk consultancy. He has worked across the Middle East and other challenging jurisdictions, including on security assessments, crisis response, kidnap-for-ransom cases and complex operational risk management.

In the built environment, Phillip and MAST can support design teams, developers and asset owners by helping to integrate security into the design process rather than treating it as an operational afterthought. This aligns with BREEAM’s requirement for safety and security considerations, including Security Needs Assessments, visual audits of sites and surroundings, and stakeholder consultation.
