Earlier years
My influential years were spent working within the local city councils architectural, planning, Conservation and Landscape depts. With a natural ability to adapt and eagerness to learn from old school architects gave me the knowledge and confidence to develop techniques in detailing and drawing. This eventually led to the use of computer aided design such as Micro station and eventually AutoCAD and now fully proficient. In 1995 joined ATKINS which proved to be a major step into the exposure for working within a large-scale multidisciplinary firm. With a keen attention to detail and extensive knowledge gained by working within various departments proved to be an asset. Rose quickly in the ranks to become Project leader on various projects and having a proactive nature, to generate a positive working environment which in turn helped to reduce design errors and maximise margin through collaborative approach. Has a unique ability to manage people and gain their trust which eventually led to exposure to design management.
