Centre line method
The centre line method, refers to a method for estimating material quantities and associated costs for a buildings and other built assets. It is a method that relies to some extent on symmetry, as well as repetition, in that wall types, footings, thickness' etc are the same on each side of the central line.
The process involves establishing the total centre line of the scheme walls, which gives the centre line length, this is then multiplied by their the breadth and their depth to give estimates of total quantities.
