Logical data model

Digitisation for construction product manufacturers: a plain language guide, published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in 2021 states: ‘A logical data model represents the abstract structure of the information. Based on the conceptual data model, it seeks to capture things of importance to an organisation, and how they relate to one another, in the form of data structures such as relational tables and columns. It sets out the processing flow and relationships between the data. Once validated and approved the logical data model can become the basis of a physical data model and form the design of a database.’
