Attenuation tank
High Speed Rail (Crewe – Manchester) Environmental Statement, Glossary, abbreviations and references, published by the Department for Transport in 2022, suggests that an attenuation tank is: ‘…usually installed within a drainage system just prior to the point of discharge from a site to help control the rate of water flow during high flow conditions.’
