Chock
Safety in the storage and handling of steel and other metal stock, second edition, published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in August 2016, defines chocks as: ‘Pieces of hardwood or plastic, usually wedge-shaped, used to prevent unexpected movement, eg rolling of individual coils. The longest edge should always be in contact with the floor/storage system.’
