Redefining value, The manufacturing revolution, Remanufacturing, refurbishment, repair and direct reuse in the circular economy, published by the United Nations Environment Programme in 2018, suggests that reverse-logistics: ‘Refers to activities engaged to recapture the value of products, parts, and materials once they have reached end-of-use or end-of-life. All VRPs (Value-Retention Processes) may be considered to be part of a reverse-logistics system, and in addition activities including collection, transportation, and secondary markets provide essential mechanisms for facilitating reverse-logistics.’
