Latitude and longitude

The Geospatial Glossary, published by the Geospatial Commission, and accessed on 17 September 2022, defines latitude as: ‘The angular distance north or south of the equator. Often abbreviated to Lat.’

It defines longitude as: ‘The angular distance east or west of the prime meridian. Often abbreviated to Long.’
