ACM cladding testing by BRE
Descriptions of tests 6 and 7 inconsistent with govt info and BRE reports. An explanation of the second issue of test 7 would be helpful.
The descriptions have been checked and appear to be consistent with the government statements that were issued at the time (follow the links in each of the test descriptions). The links to the government statements also provide further explanations and additional sources of information that may be helpful.

A. The wiki states;
Test 6 : Category 2 + Phenolic Foam = fail
Test 7 : Category 1 + stone wool = pass
B. the government website states;
Test 6 : Category 1 + Mineral Wool = pass
Test 7 : Category 2 + Phenolic Foam = fail
Clearly 6 and 7 are mixed up.
If you look at the date order of the tests, you will see that our sequence reflects the original numbering. For some reason the government has subsequently reversed the order of test 6 and 7. You can see this both in the date order of the sequence and in the associated advice note numbering, which is now sequenced 4,5,6,7,8,10,9. ie the last two have been reversed.
It is not clear why the government has changed the order, however, irrespective of the numbering, the results remain as originally reported and are correct for the materials that they refer to.
