Dr. Erten completed her BS degree in Civil Engineering from Boaziçi University in stanbul and received MS and Ph.D. degrees from Rutgers University in USA in Civil and Environmental Engineering (1994). While working for AECOM and BOVIS Lend Lease in Los Angeles offices, Dr. Erten lectured as an Adjunct Faculty at USC. She later completed the executive program at Harvard University’s School of Public Health on Leadership in Sustainability. She worked as the Director of Clinton Climate Initative the implementing partner of (C-40) for Clinton Foundation in Istanbul. She has been elected to serve on US Green Building Council Board (2014-2017). She served on the LEED International Committee, and advisory committee of World GBC, French HQE, along with sustainable buildings policy committee of Europian Regional Network (ERN) of World GBC. She is the co-founder of Turkey Green Building Council and served as the President and Vice-President (2007-2016). She received the President’s Award given by World Green Building Council (WGBC) for her outstanding contributions to the global sustainability movement in 2012. She has been awarded BREEAM FELLOW recognition by British Building Research Establishment (BRE) in 2016. She received the Women in Sustainability Leadership Award (WSLA) in 2017 from (USGBC).
