Spherical coordinate system

The Geospatial Glossary, published by the Geospatial Commission, and accessed on 17 September 2022, defines a spherical coordinate system as a: ‘Three-dimensional coordinate system with one distance measured from the origin and two angular coordinates, commonly associated with a geodetic coordinate reference system.’
