Earth observation

Earth observation and aerial surveys, RICS professional standard, 6th edition, September 2021, published on 4 January 2022 by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), defines Earth observation as: ‘The process of capturing data about the Earth’s physical, chemical and biological systems using remote sensing technologies including surveying techniques, and the collection, analysis and presentation of this data.'
